Hike - April 3
Hello Hiking Friends,
The weather is warming up and the end of our hiking season is quickly approaching.
Friday, April 3 will be our last hike until next October. Our destination will be just outside of Payson and we will be hiking a portion of the Barnhardt Trail. This hike has 2000 feet of elevation in 2 miles, so plan on a good climb. From photos I have seen it should have some wonderful views and we are hoping for a waterfall. If you search this trail you will find that it is many miles, but we will be hiking only about 4.5 miles round trip.

Leaving RMCC parking lot at 8:15 AM
Will Return between 12:30 - 1 PM
Bring:

Mark Friday, April 3 on your calendar as our last hike until next October 2009. We will be going towards Payson and are looking at the Barnhardt Trail or another trail nearby. This one has over 2000 ft. of elevation and we are hoping to find a large waterfall.

Hi Ladies!
On our various hikes together, some of you have verbalized an interest in helping with the ’09 Mexico Mission trip. There are many jobs that I could use help with from those of you that aren’t going. If you’re still interested just get back to me and also be looking for Mexico Donation list that will be out during the Women’s bible study times. That list we be food donations and baking items.
Thank you and can’t wait to share with you all of the ways that God is working to make this trip happen!

February Hike
Our next hike is on Friday, February 6th. We will leave the parking lot at 8:15 am. Returns will vary, but all should return no later than 12:30 pm.
We will be hiking in the Usery Park area, but entering from a road entrance and not from inside the park. There are no bathrooms at this entrance, but if you decide to go on the longest hike into the main park, there are facilities there.
The trails we are looking at include Meridian, Cat Peaks, Cat Peaks Pass and for those that may want a longer hike, parts of Pass Mountain. This trail is different than our usual in that there is only an elevation of 130 feet, but it is supposed to be great for nature scenery.
We could potentially have 3 groups of hikers. Please indicate which distance interests you, and if you would be willing to be a trail leader for that hike. Maps will be provided. And, yes, if you would like to drive, please indicate that as well.
Round trip: Just Meridian is 1.8 miles, add in Cat Peaks and Pass to make it 3.25 miles and then Pass Mountain for a total of about 4.5 miles
Bring: $1.00 per person (please have exactly $1.00 - there is a fee, don’t believe what you read on the Internet).
Water, Hat, Sunscreen, Snack, Camera (optional)
Please contact Jeanne to join this hike or for questions at figureitout@cox.net.

This Friday we will be hiking the Peralta Trail. The drive there is at least 45 minutes. The hike is just about 5 miles. The level of hiking is Moderate with the steeper areas near the top. But well worth the view of Weaver’s Needle.
The Cardio Hikers should have no problem returning by 12:30.
Casual Hikers that want to make it to the top may need to allow themselves some extra time or only do part of the hike.
With all this rain we may spot some nice waterfalls. Should be a beautiful day!
